Listening

The section takes around 40 minutes, it includes recorded speech and pauses to allow you time to write your answers. You will hear each recording once and are expected to write your answers while listening. This test measures whether the candidate can follow and understand health-related speaking materials such as patient consultation, lectures etc.

It has three parts: –

• Part I – Listen two recorded health professional-patient consultations extract about five minutes each and complete the health professional’s notes using the information you hear.
• Part II- Listen six recorded Workplace extract like team briefing, handovers or patient-nurse dialogue about one minute each and answer multiple choice of each extract.
• Part III- Listen two presentation extracts about five minutes each and answer six multiple-choice questions for each extract. You may expect two presentations or two interviews, or one of each.
